Joe Sr. & Rosalia Lamza Stavinoha
Family History

Joe Stavinoha Sr. was born in Ammansville, Fayette County, Texas
on March 14, 1883, to Ignac & Annie Farek Stavinoha, Where They were farming at this time. Joe met Rosalia Lamza, who was born on August 26, 1886, House #239 in Certov, Slovakia, To Matej & Zuzanna Putala(?Zachar)Lamza, she was about 10 years old when she came to America and on to the Shiner-Moulton area with her parents, some-time in 1896. Joe married Rosalia on November 7, 1905, at S.S.Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. They farm in the Henkhaus area, between Shiner & Moulton where a daughter Rosie was born on January 20, 1908, then Joe Jr. was born December 12, 1909, Hynek was born on October 4, 1911 and Rudy was born on April 25, 1914.
The Family then moved & purchased a farm in the Nickel school area, in Gonzales County, where William was born date un-known at this time, Helen was born on March 3, 1921 and Alvin was
born on January 2, 1927. About 3 months later Rosalia, Joe's wife died on March 3, 1927, at the age of 41. The family continued to to live here. Rosie married John P. Marek on October 11, 1927, in Shiner's S.S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Joe Jr. married Mary Polasek on January 26, 1931, in same church, Hynek Married Bessie Vaclavik on October 23, 1934, in Shiner, Texas. Rudy married Theresa Valenta on November 3, 1938 at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Wharton, Texas. Some-time in the 30's Joe Sr.,Helen and Alvin moved to Poth, Texas in Wilson County. Helen married Leo Valchar on November 4, 1936, from this area. Alvin married Mildred Kucera on October 28, 1953, Holy Family Catholic Church, Wharton, Texas.
Joe Sr. moved from Poth, Texas to Lane City, Texas, where he worked for his sons and others on the farm. After his health failed & could no longer stay with his children, he went to live in a Nursing Home in Kerrville, Texas where he lived until his death on July 7, 1971. Both Joe Sr. & his wife Rosalia are buried in the Moulton Catholic Cemetery, Moulton , Texas. 470
